These porker Carerra GT’s are getting a bit common aren’t they………..

Oh my good god, I had the utter pleasure of following a grey 05 plate CGT through the meadows in Edinburgh last night. It looked absolutely sublime. I came up behind it in traffic and it had the most monumental heat haze drifting up from the behind its occupants. What a truly truly beautiful car. It makes hardly any noise off the throttle but on the move the whooping from the V10 is just sublime. It also sounds like it has the lightest flywheel of anything I have ever heard – the revs rose and fell instantly. No idea who was driving but he was a very very lucky man.

Hardly anyone walking down the street gave it a second glance – and for that I now rate it soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much more. Those who did notice, knew exactly what it was and the jaws hit the ground!

What a treat!

I may have seen the same car on Linlithgow High Street, heading West, at about 19:15. As it was in traffic there was little chance of hearing/seeing it at anything other than tickover.

Also spotted in Linlithgow last week what I assume was father and son out in their Ferraris. Cannot recall the models but the number plates were consecutive numbers - C6 and C7 followed by the same three letters.

There is a carrera GT in linlithgow and a few ferrari's. Haven't seen the consecutive plate ones though. Were they new or old?

KB_S1,

I think one was a 348 and the other was newer possibly a 360. Sorry not to hot on the various new 355/360 etc models. Not to keen on the newer "entry level" models, prefered the 328 GTS. Also either the guy driving the "newer" model was having problems doing a manual change or the "flappy paddle" change was playing up .

KJR

Edited to add both red.

KB_S1,

think I have spotted it around town, nice.

Once hired a GTS, from Town & Country out at the airport, 1990ish, D495WPE.

Had to take it back before I really got the chance to appreciate it. The drivers door started to pop open at the most inappropriate times, first time A7, 90 degree left and the door popped open into on coming traffic .

Had to drive it back to the hire company holding the door closed. Surprised the traffic police that passed me did not pull me over.

Heard later that the person, from the hire company, driving it back south for repair managed to write it off .

I think the/a Carrera GT lives with a guy in Linlithgow - I, myself, haven't seen it, but a few mates have.

Update on the "location" of the Carrera GT. Spotted it in the drive of a house in the West Port area, will not be more specific than that, being washed.

Now I passed this drive twice today, no I was not being nosey, once I spotted the GT and on the other occasion I spotted a funny looking pick up "thing" which I had also spotted in the town in the morning.

Not sure how to described it, looks new but of a retro design, black, and it may even have been a convertible and about the same size as your average euro family saloon.

When I saw it this morning, in my very small rear view mirrors and a few cars back, I thought it was a 70s Corvette.

Right - the big black thing is an American import Chevrolet SSR. It has a metal folding roof. Thats all I know. So......

I know the house where the owner lives so my eyes will be peeled every time I pass!!!

The guy in the Escalade (with chrome spinners) apparently owns a chain on night clubs - so probably is a drug dealer too!

And there speaks the spoilt child!

Bromide or whatever your sig is, these guys are just car enthusiasts, who arent lucky enough to have a successful Daddy like you. Your arrogance does you little credit, especially belittling other peoples pride and joy. Now why dont you go off and reflect on your good fortune, consider exactly what you have acheived since you came into this world and do some growing up!
