Recently a few hundred meters dredged near one of my dog walking routes. Fascinating to watch, stuff scooped out with a bucket and arm mounted on a barge. A digger on the bank loading residue into a glopeter glopeter machine, then spread on the fields.

My question, how does the bucket operator avoid damaging the clay lining when scooping? And what does the glopeter glopeter machine actully do?

Does sound like the sort of thing you get a flask and sandwich and have a watch of.

My son would be in his element with the diggers.

Brings back memories from my child hood in the 70's. I spent far too many hours watching Perseverance clearing the Basingstoke canal.

Fascinating really and I've taken my nephew to watch the diggers...absolutely transfixed.

Cheers,

I remember when they sunk the dredger in St Catherines lock on the river Wey! hehe (A quick look on Google now shows it as blocked going through Guildford?!!)

From the vid I assume it filters out bicycles and shopping trollies.
