And you're surprised it's gone up 10% ? It's the inflation rate. frown Band C for pre 2017 cars has gone up for the first time ever, to £35.

This will be the same government that tell workers that 5% is the maximum pay rise possible

Whilst driving round in their 'fleet' cars so they don't pay BIK on them

It’s not 10% for all. It might average out overall at 10% but mine in G 9% increase, other car is E, 11% Band D is also 11% . Interesting the lower band cars are paying more of a percentage increase.

Yeh that's all well and good but inflation has not been applied to pay, so the government offer less than 8% roughly in public sector and that's over two years in some cases, for council tax was supposed to be a max 5% (my local bill has increased more on parish and police overall 6.3%.

So where do they get off charging more VED, fuel duty is to go up and fuel prices means bumper taxes, think we need to rise up like the french.

Ouch - that's quite punchy if you're in Band M.

Mine is now £400 which is quite a lot but hey ho.

I'm more annoyed about the rate I have to pay for a motorcycle. Despite most having catalysts fitted for years, they can't be arsed to do any kind of emissions based charge, it's on engine cc like it has been for decades. Anything over 600cc is now £111 p.a. I expect (can't find new rate but it was £101 last year) frown

Fuel duty was cut by 5p per litre last year and has been maintained. Bus drivers round here just got 15% rise. It's not this topic but why do so many have no headroom on what they earn. Instead of spending every penny on Sky, Just Eat instead of cooking, Mobile contracts and tat, how about allowing for changes in circumstances and actually saving some? It's not the modern way though is it.

Pensions have gone up 10.1% wink

Don't order of just eat hardly at all, kids birthdays maybe, Binned sky about 4 years ago, moved to streaming only and binned TV licence!

Mortgage has shot up £180, council tax, I have been offer 3.75% on my pay!

I changed my main car and opted for £155 tax going from an older car that was £310 2 years ago, last year it was 165, now 180!

The ex wife has taken on a massive mortgage and demanded 12% increased in maintenance which was is a 2 year old calculation but anyone who has dealt with CMS is like a lottery what they can calculate, so I have little choice but to offer a significant increase or roll the dice!

It's jumped quite a bit. £180 quid for me now on a 1.1 Renault Twingo, it's pretty much the same as the insurance for it.

Me too. That's more than I pay to insure either of them.

£265 to £290, luckily my tax runs out 31/03/23 so I've renewed at the 22-23 rates...

£395 for me.

Might even be more than I pay for fuel these days, let alone insurance. Nuts. Still, I could fork out £60k on a Tesla and get that down to £180 in a couple of years, what an incentive.

i think where it really stings if you have an older car in the garage that you use occasionally. We sold our 2009 N54 35i Z4 about 7 months ago as it just wasn't getting used regularly enough.. the plan was to replace it with a cheapo MX5 for the same roof down action but less running costs...

the way tax has gone up it just doesn't seem worth it, even on something small & cheap like the mazda :/
