If you like this kind of thing you might enjoy the dvd of the late Martin Mathews. I think it was comissioned by the V&A as part of the Millennium cash splurges. He was a fourth generation pocket watch case-maker and would make new pair cases for centuries old pocketwatches on the original machines using the original techniques of the London watchmakers... in his front room! An Irreplaceable amount of knowledge.

I love it! "three times and a bit gives us Pi", a bit of spit, a folded paper strip, "I made that furnace out of a watering can". His workshop looks like a complete bombsite filled with deathtraps and he makes a case that looks like God crafted it from baby's breath and sunbeams. laugh.

The V&A also have this short silent video which runs in the background showing him making a silver case for one of their watches. You can see Roger still uses some of the same techniques.
