FFS.

I posted a 'euro trip thread' in General Gassing and it get's moved to 'Holiday & Travel'?

I get the need to keep the place tidy but c'mon, does a road trip thread really belong with 'where is best to stay in Tenerife?'.

Whoever the mod was needs to give their head a wobble.

Or you could have just clicked the 'Report link and politely asked for it to be moved back to GG or even The Lounge and I'm sure they would have obliged.

Maybe it should be in the Roads section.

I've noticed a bit of that in recent months, threads that are quite at home in general gassing being moved to less active sub-forums.

I wondered if they have introduced an automated process moving threads based on keywords in the thread title rather than being done by a human mod with any interest in the forums.

'Quite at home' when there are sub-forums specifically for that topic?

To take the OP's thread as an example, in the 'Roads' section there are these:

European Road Trips - Collection of write ups & experiences

Road Trip Planning Website Resources - Got a good website to help Plan a PH'er Euro Roadtrip then include it ....

I wouldn't think such sophistication exists but it could be fun putting it to the test if it did. smile

Yes. Its not black and white that a thread can only belong in one sub-forum.

For example, there was a recent thread about differences in car culture and perception between the UK and USA. The thread title/OP mentioned Subaru specifically, but it was developing into a more general discussion about different attitudes and brand perceptions etc.

Then someone moved it to the Subaru sub-forum, where an interesting discussion fizzled out pretty quickly - its a quiet sub-forum.
