Can heavy rain trigger HADECS cameras?

I travel up and down the M1 in Derbyshire/South Yorkshire regularly.

I quite often see flashes from the cameras on the opposite carriageway even when it's quiet, no lower limit in place and nothing appearing to be blatting along to trigger it.
More often than not though it's raining when I see these flashes.

Never really more than mused about it until yesterday.
Heading South somewhere below Jct29, 50 limit in place and raining.
I was doing around 48 in lane 2 and coming up behind slower stuff so moved to lane 3 just as I passed under the gantry.
Two flashes went off as I did this.
Nothing else around me going quicker so I can only think it was my car that triggered it or could it be:
1. The rain (as mused above) , or
2. Some weird effect of me changing lanes (away from the camera), or
3. Just a random flash that happens occasionally

It’s the ghost of Jack Sears, test driving 1960’s Le Mans race cars on the M1 (AC Cobra Coupe, 185 mph)

Of course, never thought of that.
Hope he's got full wets on smile

Perhaps you were drawing close to a HGV who should be driving at 60mph?

Dont recall an HGV but just a thought:

Could the radar initially be on me in lane 2 doing 48.
I move to lane three so radar jumps to car in front in lane 2 and a fair bit further ahead.
Radar thinks a car has moved a large distance in a short time so triggers the flashes?

Did Herts to the NW last night and didn’t see any flashes that weren’t warranted, and it was pissing down.
