Pop 'n' Bang

One question. Do 4.2's pop 'n' bang as much as 4.5?
Or is there no difference? Forget sports exhausts/de-cats, I know the effect of it being amplified. I mean on the whole.

I would say they are both the same. The ones i've heard from both engines are similar.

Even kevin63 in his S6 sounds well and has plenty of pops and bangs, thanks to Joolz and his sports pipes.

All you guys with S6 cars....have a word with him. Well worth it.

Just accidentally found a way of getting even more pops and bangs - have one of your sports exhausts fall off when you're overtaking someone at 80mph!

Luckily it bounced over to the hard shoulder and didn't hit the car behind, but could've been dodgy!

Now after completing the last hour of the journey with the rear section in the boot I'm a trifle deafer.

Drill a few holes just after the cats - cheap way....
Does bang a fair bit more because the fuel ignites while its still sparking with energy...

Or get a spark plug attached just out of sight, put through a welded on bung, and wire it up to a relay switch on your dash, flick it and enjoy EXPLOSIONS.... (max powerish maybe, but great fun, just make sure your pipes stick out a fair bit from the rear otherwise you could end up torching your glassfibre rear end...
