I know that quite a lot of Tiv owers are lucky enough to keep them in a garage, but I think there's a lot of pepole who don't. I keep the car (black 99 Griff 500) in Brighton and London and am getting mightly p***ed off with people reversing into the nose and then driving off, leaving scratches and chips in the paint.

Is this annoying anyone else? Any solutions short of a pre emptive note under the windscreen of the car in front?

Also, whos the best for repairing chips and scratches in metallic paint. Is it possible or am I looking at a respray every couple of years? Anyone tried that Armourguard thing? if so what's it like? is it worth the dosh?

Thanks for any responses

Pretty sure there was someone posted a solution earlier on this year - carry a cone or 2 in the boot, Whenever you park, put a cone a foot in front & back of your car. That way the numpties hit the cone & not the car.

Armourfend the nosecone only which will set you back a lot less than the whole car and believe me this stuff does work !!

How much does Armourfending cost for just the nose cone, who does it (dealer only or independents) and is it obvious, as I have seen some comments on other threads that it shows up easily. Does this depend on paint colour?

Yes Robert, I am as ed off as you. My Chim was hit last week taking a small but 'nasty' gouge out of the nose. My spitfire was bumped on a regular basis but old car so no-one cares…

Various solutions I’ve considered include iron spikes, removable bull bars or exploding mixes of indelible paint. Perhaps one of the after-market suppliers could get onto these options!

Not bad suggestions, falling slightly short of 007s protection for his Esprit. A bit over the top, perhaps. I think I'm gonna take her to the TVR body shop in bristol and get an armourguard fitted at the same time when I'm next feeling rich. Thanks for the advice.

www.armourfend.com

They provide dozens of precut sections for the Griff - just get the bits you need. Flat parts can be fitted yourself; curved areas are recommended to be fitted by your nearest Armourfend franchisee.
