North Derbyshire / North Nottinghamshire / South Yorkshire.

I’m on the border of all three areas, and I can’t see a single street light as far as I can see, (into all three counties).

Anyone else?

Apparently it was a “High Voltage incident” effecting various clusters from North Yorkshire across down in to Wales.

What I found odd about this last night was that 1.5 miles east of us is Nottinghamshire, which was dark, and 1.5 miles north of us is South Yorkshire, which was also dark, (no haze from street lights).

Although I guess this is where I now find out that electricity supply isn’t based upon county borders?

It may have to pass through a number of counties between the place where the electricity is made and your house.

I didn't notice it in Chesterfield whenever I woke up last night sometime between midnight and 1:00 am. No clocks flashing to indicate power cut and no "Did your power go off last night?" posts in local Faceache pages.

There are some people who will tell you that electricity passes through the entire universe before it gets to you and there is only one electron.

I'm guessing you're within spitting distance of the three wind turbines then?

Some areas affected, whilst others are on are because you're on different circuits. With a spread of people off that large and some on in surrounding counties etc, I'd imagine it's an EHV fault/circuit trip If it was localised, the town Facebook page would be buzzing 😄

Right on the boundary between two distributors then - Western Power and Northern Power then. Looks like the split in responsibility is above the reservoir and follows the dyke towards the airfield.
