Nissan R35 GT-R or Lotus Emira

Hi all, after being a life long R35 fan, I am nearly in the position of buying a circa 2017 R35 GT-R. However, a friend of a friend has thrown a spanner in the works as I saw his stunning Lotus Emira at the a couple of weekends ago and wow, what a beauty!
I know that these are 2 completely different cars but which one would you go for?
My driving is motorway, dual carriageway, A roads, etc, say around 40%. The other 60% is probably slower / city driving. This will be my daily car.
I know the GTR is more of a cruiser (and I love the history of the brand / badge) and the Lotus is an everyday sports car (again, with a great history) and I loved Harry Metcalfe's video / tour with it. But something keeps drawing my to the Lotus and when I decide on that, I look back at the GT-R and feel that actually, I should stick to my original choice and go with that.
Any words of wisdom most appreciated. Thanks!

Both on my list of possible next cars although I’m currently to poor! If it was my only car it would be GTR, more practical, larger boot, and some back seats to stick my dog. Could cruise all day and then be a weapon on track.
If I could have two cars I think id take the Emira, looks gorgeous (one of the best looking current cars out there imo) probably a bit more ‘special’ to use and be out and about in and can come with three pedals.

You say the GTR is more of a cruiser, but it's also very capable around a racetrack, I'd be surprised if it wasn't quicker around a lap of most tracks than an Emira. It's in no way soft, I suspect the Lotus would have the more absorbent ride quality.
The GTR is a straightline monster, even stock - it'll feel noticeably quicker than the Emira. The GTR does 0-100mph in 6.8 seconds, the Emira takes almost twice as long at 12.7 secs.

Emira every day of the week. Love the GTR but it's a big old thing that doesn't ride very well and offers little engagement at lower speeds.
The Emira is a big step forward from a usability perspective for Lotus, and perfectly suited to UK roads and driving with plenty to offer even at < 60mph.

I wonder if this will be one of those quotes that looking back in a decades time we'll reminisce about what it could have cost. Emiras are little stunners. As are Fiat Coupes in my eyes.

12.7 seconds sounds more like the Emira 1/4 mile time, not 0-100mph? There's no way 400hp and <1500KG of weight takes 12.7 seconds to get to 100, it'll be more like 10.As a comparison of 1/4 mile times for competing cars from Carwow
Cayman GTS - 12.3
Alpine A110S - 12.6
Toyota Supra - 12.7
A standard 2021MY GTR took 11.6 in the same test BTW, the 570S you suggested 11 dead.
