The great British tradition of snark
Discussion
I run a community cleanup group in my seaside town. We are all volunteers, pick different parts of the town and work hard weeding them, clearing them, just improving them. Its a nice thing to do.
I’d just finished a clearup today. I have a mountain bike with a kiddie trailer on it obviously filled with gardening tools. I’d just set off literally a few metres down the wide promenade to get back on the road as the trailer doesn’t do kerbs. Yes, its technically a pavement.
“Not even safe from bikes on the path”…instant snarky comment from a pedestrian when they’d literally watched me get on the bike past the newly clear bit of seafront.
Is this a peculiarly British thing?

Is that Minehead?
Reckon it is... looks like the South West Coast Path staring point sculpture to me. I'm heading down there in May.In the spirit of the thread, you could say it's the start OR end point depending on how you walk the path, but that might be needlessly sarky (and right).

Typical! Clean the path yet incapable of making the kerbing, stones and grass resemble a cock and balls when most of the work's been done for you! Tut!
I've never graffitied in my life but that pic makes it look like an obvious opportunity.
Snark isn't peculiarly British but it takes some ability in languages to appreciate it in other countries.

Without intending to sound like a dick or undermine your good efforts...however
Riding on the pavement on a bike is illegal so strictly speaking you're in the wrong despite your good intentions.
The Highway Code also states: “You must not cycle on a pavement.” The offence of riding a bike on the pavement is punishable by an on-the-spot fine, a fixed penalty notice of £30. This is charged under Schedule 3 and Section 51 of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.
Can you not find an alternative trailer and cycle on the road?
