The central locking on my Peugeot Partner has stopped working I have a new battery in the fob. The bash is lighting up with 2 red flashing lights both flashing separately. I believe usually it was just one light. I can't get in the vehicle as the locks don't work on the van. Any ideas to the solution to this? I'm thinking locksmith. Thanks for any help.

My van appears to have deadlocked itself. My key fob won't unlock the van(have tired new batteries). And my keys won't turn the locks externally they maybe jammed have turned wd40 to no luck. Emergency call out wedge the front door open to get to the handle with a thin piece of metal but the handle wouldn't open the door as it is dead locked. Does anyone have any other ideas of getting in?

Ask on the specific (transit, T5 etc) van page on FB

Some cheap eBay batteries are too thin and don't work. Try a Sony battery. Just a thought.

Try holding the keyfob against your head when you push the button. Your hair amplifies the signal.
Doesn't work if you are bald

Are you sure you have the correct key, given you don't normally use them on the doors? Historic replacement ignition etc?

Dealer may have records and can supply original key?

Yep, worth a try. I had this with a BMW remote after I’d changed the batteries. Someone told me to replace the cheapie Amazon batteries with Varta batteries. I was very sceptical but it did work.

Have read about some issues with the child safe bitter coating on coin batteries insulting on certain terminal locations.

As others have said try an alternative battery, check the terminals are clean and tight against the battery. Good luck!

Is it a Mercedes van with the infrared key?

The reason I’m asking is because the remote stopped working on my G class, and both mechanical locks (door & boot) were also seized through lack of use.
When I called the garage they told me there is a small black square below the door handle that uses the infrared for they key, but I need to be up close to it for the infrared to see it. It’s an alternative to the radio remote.

Another vote for decent batteries. My wife bought some cheap ones off Amazon that were thinner than the originals and didn't work. I bought some decent, thicker ones that worked straight away. That was the day I was right and my wife wasn't. It is marked in my diary laugh

The battery on the van could be flat. You may need to get some power to the van for the fob to open the locks. If you can't open the bonnet or get to the battery, see if you can find the positive terminal on the rear if the starter motor.

Sounds stupid, but make sure you’ve taken the clear sticker off the new key fob battery.

That keeps flashing red which I guess suggests central locking is off?

The key actually works in the back door but still doesn't unlock the van
