Independent service in North West

Up to prez I have had my Chim serviced at the factory (and always been very happy with it). Alas no more.

I would welcome any advice on independents within sensible reach of mid Lancs. People who really care about what they do. Have been rather disappointed at the reception (and cost of minor spares) at main dealers who shall be nameless.

Ian in Middlewich is the only other Guy I TRUST to work on my Tiv, other than Joo (trackcar). Ian is a top fella, very friendly and an awesome tech. Who doesn't take the P*ss with the price.

IMHO, we need these people to help us to enjoy the full potential our cars, if you need a commited and honest approach without paying crazy prices as charged by some.

I've just spoken to Ian on the phone. Wow what a top bloke .. all the rumours about him being straight-talking no-nonsense are true. I have no hesitation at all in recommending him 100%. Sound as a pound

He's looked after both my Chims for 3 years and offers great service, pricing and is good for straightforward advice.

Ian at Middlewich. How many mechanics do you know that would spend 7 hours on a sunday trying to fix an idle problem, and also weld your exhaust..........for nothing?

I'd go for Ian at Middlewich, although I can't say he spent 7 hours working on my Chim for free..... I'll have to have a chat with him when I see him tomorrow....

Another vote for Shane at SFR - really knows his stuff and does a superb job. Has looked after my Chimaera 500 for a couple of years now - have had a great experience all round so would not hesitate to recommend him. His links to the guys at the factory and TVR power can be useful too
