Can't see a thread on this. It seems the Daily Mail are getting their knickers in a twist about this influencer being sponsored by Nike.

Imagine getting upset about Nike sponsoring someone biglaugh

Big win for Nike imho. Huge amounts of publicity for very little really.

Not all publicly is good publicity especially when it comes to targeting females.

I doubt 90% of NP&E have been in the Nike target demographic for many a year so an outraged article from that toilet paper, aimed at a particular demographic, is unlikely to concern them.

The crucial word was target.

Those Ughyurs sitting in labour camps being forced to put together Dylan's sports bra must be so proud.

It's a subject I know very little about but presumably Nike have lots of brand ambassadors and make hundreds if not thousands of products?

This seems to involve one product (or line) and one of those brand ambassadors.

Not entirely sure what the fuss is about.

Why is it a "parody of women"? When someone like Harry Styles wears a dress, is that a parody of women? Or someone just deciding to push traditional fashion boundaries?
I think this is a bit more than just a bloke wearing a dress and is getting more into the whole drag scene thing. I'm not bothered by drag, When growing up my parents were in a cabaret troupe that included a drag act so it all seems harmless enough to me but my missus hates the idea of drag, she considers that to be a parody of women and deeply disrespectful on par with blackface.

This is a good example for the “if trans people just kept it down a bit there wouldn’t be an issue” people tbh.

Dylan Mulvaney is one of probably thousands of influencers Nike send stuff to and she’s making silly insta content in her garden.

In what way is this news worthy?

Is there more to this story?

People are going to boycott Nike as a transgender person was paid to advertise their clothing on their own social media?

How many influencers do they give clothes and money to promote their brand?

What do people expect brands to do? Completely ignore and alienate transgender people?

Depends on your definition of a lot tbh, a hundred people is a lot in my living room but not at hampden.

it should be a mask off moment for a lot of them tbh.

How does “we don’t hate trans people, we just want fairness” go with attacking a trans woman for wearing women’s clothes.
