Yet Another Bloody GATSO in West London

Guys - am sickened. I posted about a new Camera on the A312 between the M4 and heathrow a few weeks ago, despite there supposedly being a govt freeze on new cameras. Now another one has been installed on the Great West Road just down from the Gillette Junction, opposite PC World. WTF is going on?? Are the partnerships just ignoring the government??

Saw that Yesterday too. When did it go in? Must have been very, very recently?

Something I also noticed... its a standard looking brightly painted oldskool Gatso but there are no calibration marks on the road in any of the 3 lanes.

Doesnt it need these for the photos to be legal? (Or is it that new that the installation hasnt quite been finished?)

Hi Gonzo - yeah, no markings at all. I hope to hell you're right about it not being finished yet....I only noticed it on my way back. On the way there I was way over the limit!!

To be honest I think it was actually put in during the day. I noticed it on my way back down as well, across 6 lanes of heavy traffic . Next morning I totally forgotten about it, but spotted it from a few hundred yards away. I think you will be fine.

Would love an answer on the calibration lines thing?

Looked again this morning, there are no aditional markings on the road at all. Also a car quite a way behind me caught up sharpish going through the camera (over the limit) and it did not appear to flash him.
