I already have a massive and warm sleeping bag and mat but I need to shrink my kit so it's easier to tour on my motorbike and bicycle.

In terms of price what's the sweet spot for packable size and 3 seasons warmth?

Edit: needs to be synthetic not down.

Any kit you'd particularly recommend?

If you can guarantee you can keep it dry a down sleeping bag is the way to go for weight, warmth, and pack size.

This is a decent website.

And alpkit do some good stuff as well.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I should have said: the bag needs to be synthetic.

Looking for a mat myself after using a massive bag and getting away with a roll mat round the world for years. I have a 400 fill down bag and they are really a game changer for size and weight. Considering a liner or just getting a 600 bag as my 400 was cold in the Highlands in autumn but I was on a summer mat.

Big agnes Rapide SL seems to have it for comfort and a 4.2 value. Thermarest do a Xlite NXT which is a lot lighter and also an R value in the 4s or a XTherm NXT with an R value in the 7s and is also lighter.

Sleeping bag wise North Face Cats Meow seems like a decent synthetic bag that's rated minus 7 or Rab do lighter but above 0⁰ rated bags.

A lot recommend a warm mat and a duvet for space and weight but can't see it myself

I've ended up going for a Rab Solar Eco 3 Sleeping Bag and a Thermarest Trail Pro Wide Mat. Hopefully these will (a) keep me warm (b) fit into my cycle panniers and motorbike Kriega soft bags.

Thanks for the suggestions.
