Lost luggage - Lufthansa

While transferring through Frankfurt on our way back from Oman a few months back my case disappeared. As we were on our way home I didn't think too much about it as previous lost bags have generally appeared pretty quickly.

I obviously reported it missing at the airport and was given a reference number and told to check online for updates. No updates at all since so I completed the claim form to the best of my memory.

Has anyone else had to deal with the same issue? There was just typical holiday stuff in there but it still adds up - well into 4 figures if I went out and replaced everything.

…and they should have allowed you to purchase those goods as they’ve not located the bags.
Airline is liable.

(I flew a LOT w/Luftwaffe for many years, but didn’t ever have the problem of a lost bag, so I can’t suggest who to contact to escalate, but they should pay out on the contents now.)
