The 992 turbo I ordered back in Dec 2021 is due to have its spec finalised soon. I am 6 foot 4.5'' and headroom is important for me. I will be using the car as a daily driver.

4 way vs 14 way seats
I have heard the 4 way seats give you slightly more headroom than the 14 way seats because there is less electrical stuff under the seat. Is this true?

Sunroof
If I order a glass sunroof, will this give me more headroom or less than no sunroof? The glass itself is obviously thinner but will the sunroof surround lower the headroom?

Any other headroom spec tips would be gratefully received

The 4 way seats will get you lower in the car and you’ll feel slightly more connected imo. Have you actually tried out a 992 before ordering one?

I had a 992s which I sold in 2020. It didn’t have a sunroof which is why I am asking now.

I’d imagine you might lose a little bit of headroom with the sunroof, but you should gain more with the 4 way seats. See if you can try one locally.

Obviously worth double checking for a 992 but I remember in the Taycan, the sunroof increased the headroom.

I'm exactly the same height. The problem I find with any 4-way only seat is that you can't adjust the height of the front and back of the seat base independently - the height adjustment just moves the seat through an arc and the consequence is lack of support under the thighs and all the weight on the bottom. I've sat in quite a few variations of seats and specs of 992 over the years and I've never had a problem with headroom - I even commented recently to my wife that they could make the car lower profile as there was so much unused space above my head.

Best to try and and find a 992 nearby with the 14w and sunroof that you can try - the filtering on the OPC used site is handy for this. If I was ordering a Turbo (non-S) I would upgrade to the 18w seats.

I’m 6f 5.. I’ve had loads of 992’s with all different seats setups currently got a GTS with tilt slide sunroof.

Head height is not an issues at all, I’ve got 18 ways and Seat goes so low I feel I have to go all the way to its lowest setting, and then one click up, it’s perfect.

Ironically, I had the chance to attend my friends, Ferrari, Pista collection yesterday, and managed to sit in all different Ferrari seats, I came to the conclusion I can never own a Ferrari due to my height, and the seats not fit in me at all, and I am of a normal build.

A mere 6.3 here, but loads of headroom with 18ways and sunroof. Absolutely wouldn’t get the 4 ways, as there is no tilt adjustment in the base, so there will be no thigh support which will put all the weight on your sit bones with long legs. Great car for tall drivers, no other sport car comes close.
