Clunk.........
Discussion
Helloooo
Not always but every now and then I get a clunk (dragging) sound (feeling) from what I gather is the diff or driveshaft when taking off in 1st. It is very noticeable when taking off nice and leisurely then disappears one I change to second (well, I cant really seem to hear/feel it anyway)
Ive read other threads that suggest it could be bell housing bolts loose or missing.??
Haven't had a look yet but wanted to get a bit more of an idea what to look out for when I have her off the ground.
Thanks
Kempy

Check the rear anti roll bar - they have a habit of coming away from the mounts (breaking them) - easy to see if you lie down and look at the car from the rear.
Could also be a bit of play in your diff mounts - would cause the diff to twist under load and clunk on the frame. That is best tested on a ramp with a bar.

Sorry
On a ramp - ie with the car at a garage at head height, because otherwise it is very difficult to check the bushes.
To check the play in the bushes, you need a crowbar - wedge it inbetween the bits the bush connects and see how much play there is. There should not be much at all.
I am sure there is a correct mechanic's name for the tool, but it it looks like a crowbar!
You might be able to see if the bush has shrunk/fallen out/mounting snapped
whilst looking at the anti roll bar, but you'll have to get on your back and right under the car.
With regard to your wheel rubbing, don't know, possibly.
