In the process of stripping my 2013 vantage s sportshift to get the sub frame galvanised and powder coated. All going well untill I have come to remove the drive shafts. How are they held in the diff/transaxle? I have been looking at a parts diagram on scissors and it looks as though the my have a cir clip on the inside?

If anyone could point my in the right direction that would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Tom

It's just 6 bolts iirc that connect the inner CVJ to the axle cups.
Undo those, a gentle tap and it should pop off.

Thanks but that’s the normal vantage. The vantage s doesn’t have the bolts on the inner cv joint, it is splined and pushes in to the diff/transaxle.

You might find something like this will make the job easier.

Search for "Inner CV joint puller". It's basically a sliding hammer.

Pull it! Should overcome the internal clip if you give it a hard enough tug!

Be prepared for the gearbox oil to leak out unless you have the correct design of bungs to hand (or have drained the gearbox oil)

Thanks guys I’ll give it a go. Going to drain the fluid before hand.

Got it, in that case... drain the oil and with two well placed pry bars, one each side of the inner cv give it sharp shove and they'll pop out.

Thanks for your advice. They came out easily enough with a pry bar and another pair of hands. Just didn’t want to force anything.

Sub frame is back on so now ready to re install the drive shafts. Is there a nack to pushing these back in to the gearbox. They are the splined vantage s type without the Allan bolts like on the normal 4.3/4.7?

Any advice is much appreciated
