Getting Outlook Contacts into WhatsApp on Android Phone

Samsung phone A41.
Outlook works fine and I can see my contacts and calendar.
WhatsApp mostly shows only the contact number and not the name.
Contacts App has almost nothing in it and not any contacts.
I've fiddled quite a bit and got nowhere so where do I go from here?
I guess I need to sync the Contacts App with my Outlook contacts and everything will work?????
There's lots of info on the Internet but non of it seems to work for me.

In the Outlook app, at the top left, click the circle to the left of where it says 'Inbox' to open the side bar.

At the bottom left of the sidebar, click the gearwheel to open settings.

Under 'Email accounts', tap on your account.

Switch on 'Sync Contacts'.

That should do it.
