Hello,

I have a Seiko dancing hands watch like the one in the link below that belonged to my late father. Even when nearly new it regularly required repair so didn't have the reliabliity one might associate with a Seiko quartz watch.

I found it in a drawer recently and sent it to Seiko for repair, they sent it back apologising and explaining parts were no longer available. Is that my only option or can anyone recommend a quartz watch repair specialist? I know this is unlikely but it has some sentimental value so would like to have it restored.

Many thanks

Ben

It depends what's wrong.
If it's a pusher, or crown issue, or it needs oiling then there's a good chance a competent watchmaker can fix it.
If it requires any parts, then you'll have to find both a donor and a willing watchmaker.

I used to have one of these..clever bits of kit…they do pop up on eBay, as above I’d get one as a donor to make good your’s.

Thank you both. I suspect finding one the same that isn't broken (which I suspect is no mean feat bassed on the reliability of the watch in question) and doing a transplant is indeed the way to go.
