Drink driving in a work rental
Discussion
I’ve been caught drink driving in a work van that is rented from a hire company. I was took to the station and charged and they gave me the key back for the van I was just wondering if they inform the rental company that someone was caught driving in there van whilst drunk or weather they just deal with me and don’t bother contacting anyone else.

AIUI, they will not inform anyone else if you are arrested/charged, assuming you haven’t damaged anything.
Are you worried about losing your job or something? You will need to inform your employer regardless…..
Hi yes I’m my employer finds out I will loose my job but I do not need to tell my employer as I’m in a van with 3 others so one of them will have to now have the work van and pick me up until my ban is spent my work won’t be bothered if I’m banned they’ll deffo sack me if they no that I was banned driving there van though!!Are you worried about losing your job or something? Can I ask why you did it? Why not just get a taxi home?
I don’t mean this as a judgemental argument - I don’t get why someone would drink and drive.
Well I was drink driving in the eyes of the law but it was just a finished work on a Friday nipped pub with the work lads had 3 pints dropped them all off felt fine then got pulled over and failed I can honestly say I will never do it again very disappointed with mysellf I don’t mean this as a judgemental argument - I don’t get why someone would drink and drive.

I have recently been involved in a non fault accident were another driver has hit me and is not my fault, my car has been written off by my insurance and they were going to pay me out for my car then seek the money back off the third party. They have reviewed the pictures of my car and noticed I have had the roof sprayed black and the back lights tinted (illegally) they have now sent it to the policy analysis team and are saying my insurance is void and claim cancelled. I have phoned the third party insurance and told them Im dealing with the claim on my behalf directly with them they said they need to get their engineer team to review the car to give me a valuation. Am I just going to get mugged of by there evaluation team because my car has illegal lights etc or do they have to pay (as the lights on the car were tinted at the back and he went into me head on + he has also already admitted liability) I’m £13500 out of pocket and have no clue if his insurance is going to pay me"
