Yes, another ULEZ thread, sorry.

So, I had my mind set on getting a 996.1 C2 manual and planned to go and look at a 98 car near me. As is the way in 2023, I check the MOT records and ULEZ compliance. Alas not, all Gen 1 996’s don’t appear to comply. 996.2 are fine.

Is there a way around this and what impact will it have on values?

Either buy a 996 which passes by checking the reg vs ULEZ checker or take a rise and get it certified as ULEZ compliant, see thread here.

It is a strange one, both my 98 cars are now exempt but some others don't comply.

I got a CoC from Porsche and checked the data, confirmed it was under limit and then sent details to TFL. Now exempt.

And just to complete the variety of replies.

I have a 1998 cable throttle 996.1 Manual Coupe. Previous owner had sorted getting a certificate of conformity from porsche, and this resulted in all bar Bristol and Birmingham saying no charge.

One of our children needs to now attend a regular clinic at Bristol Childrens hospital.... one quick mail to the CAZ .gov enquiries page with a PDF including the V5C pages and the Cert.... I now have free access to all of the CAZ zones in the UK.

Thanks guys. All is not lost. Knowledge is power though, so I might use ULEZ as a bargaining chip getmecoat
