Frighteningly cheap

You know there has got to be someting seriously wrong with it even in this depressed market.
Don't even think about buying it without full history, HPI, RAC inspection etc.
erm, i'm not sure i agree. The much hyped SP6 problems that have been unfairly and excesivley (IMHO) linked to the 2000 and 2001 models combined with the introduction of the Tuscan 2 and a general lack of confidence has seen values plunge.
There are many unsold Tuscans out there, its a buyers market.

If you keep an eye on Auto Trader and PH Classifieds, you'll see that Tuscans simply aren't selling. They sit on AT for week after week after week. It's getting to the point where the "stick £5K in the bank for the rebuild and buy a cheap one" route looks increasingly attractive.
The annoying thing is it's driving down the prices of the RV8 cars, too, so the "price to change" is staying much the same.

Also, one of the 2001 Tuscans at 'Tuscaneers' last weekend (a superb looking car in 1st class condition) had been only recently purchased for under 20k.
What a car for the money! Unbeatable EVEN if it requires a rebuild at some point. I personally would also put Nitrons on any Tusc that i owned, but thats only another £1200 or so.

Its not just Tuscans, everything is suffering at the moment, people are even thinking twice about buying new household appliances, let alone £20K sportscars. Anyway, getting £20K for a five year old sportcar isnt too bad, it has retained 50% of its value in half a decade, could be worse!

Absolutely right. I operate in the luxury goods sector and trade is poor. Everyone I know from Car Dealers to Furniture dealers and Electonics Retailers and Clothes Wholesalers tells the same story. If you're not Tesco's you're struggling.

Tuska,
I know some people buy bargains for under 20K , but I sold my 2001 X for £23,495 well chuffed :O))
To a TVR virgin...
Private Sale
You should consider yourself very lucky indeed then! I've had to reduce the price of my 2003 by a ridiculous amount to generate any interest.
It's now up for £24k - and that's with a recent rebuild!!!

Don't forget TVR, of course Unrep, where you saw everybody beavering away, to make loads of new cars for individual customers and not dealership stock!
Hope your business is not so bad that you have to try to sell your Tuscan.

Judas,
I was expecting 21.5 - 22 but I think people are pricing there cars to low which is damaging the secondhand market.
My car had never had rebuild in its life and was truely loved..
I would re market it and stick to your price if its a good one you will get the money....
All the best with your sale...

That seems very very very very harsh indeed.
Yours is truly beautiful example in one of the best colours...

Damn that is cheap i was originally going to buy a Tuscan (02) in black from the dealers for 30k but someone else had got it so i went for the Reflex Charcoal...
I would have taken yours off you!

Cheers Matt. It is, as you say, very harsh. If it wasn't for the impending house move I'd just say sod it and keep it, but needs must when the Devil farts in your face...
What's even more disheartening is getting people trying to knock you down even more on the price!
Certainly the market in general as slowed down a lot over the past few months, but I think TVR themselves have done the second hand Tuscan market no favours either.

This has certainly got me thinking...

Trade-in prices have dropped in line. I was offered £20k from a dealer...
Anyhow - it's going because of the house move, not so it can be replaced with something else. Having to scale back a bit on expensive toys for a bit
I know the feeling (re the house) - but I also think you should hold out for the price. Yours is one of the finest (based on the information I have read on your site) I have seen for the price. Exactly what I would be looking for in a Tuscan (except perhaps the colour scheme - not really for me) and I only wish I was not about 6 grand short of the price!
There are a lot for sale at the minute, but yours certainly ticks (almost) all the right boxes.
