What Car at 5k to add to drive with a pickup
Discussion
Moving away from our hybrid as we need something to tow, so we are going to grab a pickup for the OH every day duties and horse things.
Leaves us in a predicament about what 2nd car as we need something that I can use if I need to go out and about. Budget of around 5k.
Based in NI so the roads are pretty good, but would want something interesting and fun, but most importantly reliable and useful. I would be out for work rarely and mainly to the shops and social events in the evenings.
Haven’t had an estate before so the Caldina gt4 is popping up, comfy and abit of juice and fun to be had even with the auto, 4wd would help in the winter as well. Don’t think a diesel would be justified with the reduced miles, but Saab 93 tid/ttid are a lovely Estate as well.
Open to a good hatch or something I can enjoy without having to worry about it too much.
Thanks

caldina is a great car 215 isnt much cheaper than a 245 - may as well go newer. prices havent moved in 10 years either! Get the N-Spec if youre going to bother at all.
had a saaaaaaaab 93 TTid- nice enough and cheap, but not fun to drive, flimsy interior too. very fast and efficient (not at the same time though). "just a car" though
