Had a recent driveway theft.

Looking at new cars from the usual and, AMGs, F-Type, I8s and insurance has gone crazy. Barely any below £5k pa. London, 15 years NCD. Park on drive with alarm / immobiliser.

All premiums were £2k or below before theft.

Bizarrely a pre claim peak premium car was the M6 GC but that is now the lowest of what I have searched.

Any alternatives that I haven’t thought of / ways to reduce premium. Frankly open to considering any fun / interesting car and having something very sensible to cover practical duties.

Alpine

Evora

Anything like the above typically comes with lower premiums in my experience.

Ooooh, Alline is a good shout. How are residuals holding up on these?

I have an Emira on order, unless I can get a specialist policy that’s now out as premiums have tripled for me. Will look again at the Evora though.

The Evora or Alfa 4C would be my pick.

If you dont drive too much, how about a classic like an Aston V8 or a Jensen? Cheap insurance and harder to nick as the young scoats cant start them!

Dont park on your drive. Park in the street. That will help reduce your insurance premium.

Makes no material difference, neither does locked garage, alarm type nor tracker…..I now live in the auto equivalent of a haunted house
