Did I do anything wrong: Stay or go?

This was the junction

I had passed the white stop, certainly my front wheels had and almost certain my back had done as my car length is 4.7m and according to google the distance between that and just past the pedestrian crossing which is where i was at where the lights changed is 6m.
Here are the two videos. I can actually see now the lights changed quite quickly.

In the junction as the lights change and turning

I've been in this sittuation before at a much busier road where I had passed the stop line, entering the junction just before the lights changed and ended up staying. That was a dual carriageway road so a bit different. Another time a set of tempoary lights. They changed just as I went to the offside of the road to avoid them and the roadworks (they were in place because one side of the road was closed). ended up reversing because i couldnt' see the lights.
I'm just weary that it might have looked like to those drivers that i had just run the lights or tagged onto the rest of them because the light was already red as the two cars in front of me made their turn.

Nothing wrong there, no yellow box. Lights were green when entering the junction.
My only comment would be your slow pulling away which made the situation appear worse.
This! I'd have been clearing that junction much more quickly. Look how much further up the road the Corsa is...My only comment would be your slow pulling away which made the situation appear worse.
Chris
I was weary of the other cars which had started to move forward. I didn't just want to shoot out across , at that point I treated it like an unmarked junction. In all honesty the other cars should/could have probably waited as although green is for go it's still if it's safe to do so etc.
I know I didn't jump the red but I'm just weary someone might think I did and report me. Obviously I have got this footage to prove I didn't.

I can't see that you did anything wrong there, other than being slightly late moving away, as previously noted. This is a very minor thing. You delayed the first car coming from your right by no more than a second, so they would have to be a very unpleasant individual to report you in the first place!
Ha! My old stamping ground!
No real issues. As long as I could get past and not block any pedestrian crossing point, while I waited there.
(Technically, if any part of the vehicle is behind the stop line, you should wait).
First, keep actions safe.
Second, keep traffic flowing and not obstructing.

You've done nothing wrong whatsoever. Only advice, as above, is move off quicker, or look further ahead, forward plan better and wait behind the solid stop line if the junction is congested.
But the traffic approaching from the sides should only proceed on green if safe and the junction is clear, I'm sure you get my drift. It's pretty much a non event.
Don't worry about it. People do it all over the country all the time multiple times a day. Nothing will come of it.

Will just say that yellow box wouldn't even be a consideration for me in this situation if the exit to the right was clear and turning traffic was only prevented from entering the road by oncoming traffic. My only comment would be your slow pulling away which made the situation appear worse.

I think given your position in the road, not doing what the traffic around you expects (ie completing the turn following the other cars) will cause more confusion and the potential outcome is you put yourself in more danger by getting stuck in no-man's land.Chris
I use that junction a fair bit. In your situation, some people wait, some people go. Regular users are aware and expect this.
Legally I think you were fine to go, but as somebody mentioned above, moving off a bit faster will help people understand that you are definitely going to go and therefore give you space.

Perfectly fine.
I actually got a minor on my driving test (25yrs ago) for something similar, but in my case I stopped over the white line, but not blocking the junction.
Traffic moved off as the lights changed and I waited. Examiner said I should have moved off as I was over the line.
I’d probably still wait now mind, as no sense in snarling up the junction.
In your case you were committed into the junction and stopping would have just made it all worse.

What if you're driving a long vehicle at that junction, like an artic? Just block the junction?I think once you were in the junction and waiting, you had to make a difficult judgment call (because of the circumstance / layout, not anything you had done). The car ahead of you had no decision to make, they were always going to go. You were in a slightly more awkward spot and could have decided to stay or go and both choices would have been ok. What you did was fine.
The car coming the other way and turning left maybe should have stopped (can’t see the exact light timing). When people come through a marginal amber / red light, they often put people already in the junction trying to turn right in a tricky spot.
