We did a walk the other day and found this large area of artic trailers - and I was hoping someone might have a clue as to why they are there. They all look fairly new and are from loads of different haulage companies.
The What 3 Words reference is love.pipe.dividers
There are some diggers/machines in the same picture but I'm not sure if that is a clue. The place is not easily accessible by main roads so it must have been a major logistics job to get that many in there.
Are they there for storage, waiting to be scrapped, waiting to be exported or what?

All of those belong to Culina Logistics. They all look like chiller trailers used for shifting temperature controlled food. As they also all look very clean, my guess is they're either new trailers from the manufacturer awaiting delivery to the various Culina companies as marked in the liveries or just parked up unrequired which is more common than you might think.

Yep. All Culina. Culina in turn are owned by Muller, as in fruity cornering.

It's a trailer storage yard run by WS Logistics (there's a sign at the entrance by Lostock Gralam station).

It may be confirmation bias, but I’m seeing a lot more Culina branded trucks on motorways these days, and there are plenty of subsidiary hauliers owned by the overall Culina group based on the branding.

In that case shouldn’t the white ones be in one corner and the coloured ones in a separate corner?

It's a bar called La Tetilla del Diablo, always lots of trucks outside and round the back. Quite a wild place.

As mentioned before, these will be surplus (at the minute) trailers waiting for an uplift in volumes/requirements.

Large supermarkets will do this with units and trailers they own rather than selling and hiring/buying more when needed
