If I had the money Id be buying the Canon but the Sigma EF 500 ST DG
or
EF 500 SUPER DG

Are both a lot cheaper and appear to do the same job.

What will I miss out on if I buy the Sigma flash for my Canon SLR instead of the Canons 420 EX Speedlite?

Any reviews of any of the flashes greatly apreciated.

Dont know if you'd be interested but I've just placed a Canon 550EX up for sale in the classifieds. Also has a Stofen flash diffuser. Near mint and boxed but no instructions. after £150 quid plus postage for it.....

Unless you want to splash out on an E-TTL II Canon flash, I'd say the Sigma will be fine.

I wonder if that is the shortest lived advert on PH?!

Thanks for your quick replies.

Anyone got a source for instructions for a Canon 550EX flash?
I found a link from the Canon site but they want £8 for a photocopy. Im sure its got to be available online somewhere, everything is!

That link downloads me a .exe file which does not work!

I tried changing the extension to a .pdf but no good.

Any other ideas?
