BT Freelance XA500 quad phones help!

does anyone have any idea about these phones? we have them in our house and the range is bloody awful on them, and they crackle when you are on the phone to someone

anyone know where i can get some replacement instructions as my mum lost the bloody instruction book?

or can anyone help me on boosting the range of the phones so that they dont distort at all? i mean they are supposed to have a range of 100 metres, and i know that things like walls and tvs and stuff cause interference, but i dont think its supposed to be this bad.

I've got an answerphone version of this phone... make sure the BT line cable and the power cable aren't near each other... mine used to crackle until I moved them apart.

yes thats the one i have! with the built in answerphone into the phone base?
