Only joking but a lot of car. Likewise the Phaeton.
At this price point I would not care about Jag v Audi v Mer v BMW. Buy on condition, history and the cut of the seller's jib.

I do like the Phaeton but I've heard that parts are horrendously expensive ?https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202303285...

Merc R 320 CDi. I got 50mpg from mine, super comfortable, fast and for that money you’d get a very nice one and have a bork fund for the two known issues (intake flaps and, depending on age, air suspension). Also lots of seats, quiet, amazing load area, great ventilation - one of the few “normal” cars I’d have again.

I'd go for the E350cdi coupe, they're pretty much bulletproof & are a nicer drive than the E250, yes they're £20 over your tax budget but it's worth paying the extra::Straight to the point. I've got an absolute max budget of 8k.
