I have inherited a LARGE number of classical vinyl records and havent got the faintest what to do with them. Any suggestions on the best way to sell them? Thought eBay, but there is a lot and it might be very hard to organise and sell.... then thought a record dealer, but where to start? And who buys classical vinyl records anyway?

[small]and when I say classical, I mean stuff like Bach and Strauss and Debusy etc....[/small]

I would check thru the records to see if any are valuable. Remove these and sell them to a dealer. Advertise the rest on Ebay.....I sold 2 boxes of cack records for over £200 a few years back.

I'm not much of a classical buff, but I DO know that those who are will pay big bucks for performances by particular conductor/orchestra combinations, especially from the 50s and 60s. Old Decca FFSS stuff is often highly prized. I image a bit of a hunt around on the web might prove useful?

I put mine on a Dutch marketplaze selling site: I just wanted a nice CD recording instead. After a months mailing with imbecils I filtered 3 guys who were dead serious - 1500 euro record needle - and I'm about to collect the stuff . . .

A good 100 - 150 total. Lots of Decca stuff and specific recordings too. Interesting to see that they actually might be worth something though...

Just had a poke through the stack of records and found a bunch load of Deep Purple and Tangerine Dream records....

Wooow, bring back the 60's and 70's then. Seriously trippy...

Well why not get the vinyls valued first, then for sure you get to know what prizes you would be dealing with. Vinyls are a huge collectors items today so those pieces you have, might be worth a LOT.
