Not sure if this has been done before as a topic but would you buy a Tamora if you knew that it had been a dealer's demonstrator car for a year?

Interested to know +ve and -ve reasons.

Mine was an ex TMS demo Tamora, 8K miles when I bought it early last year, now with nearly 20K on the clock, and its fantastic.
I have been told (by more than one person) that the demo cars had blueprinted engines.
I think if the car comes from a well respected dealer, who are quite passionate about the marque, you'll find it should be very well cared for.

Ahem - I've recently had two demonstrators whilst my car was being sorted - (and very nicely too but that's another story!) The first's engine went bang with around 8k on the clock. I put that down to it having led a hard, albeit short, life. That said, if you get a decent warranty at least it will have had the niggles sorted.

Err - they use the demonstrator cars as courtesy cars do they?

Not sure I fancy that given the abuse hire cars get.

That's what they're made for! I borrowed Chris's Tam when it was the demo. It was treated as if it were my own!

I'm right in thinking that this was fitted with the three speed gearbox, which could only be shifted when the revs were on the limiter? Oh yeah..I think the advice I was given was don't go below 6,000 rpm when the engine is still cold.

My Tam was an ex demo, 6 month old and had 2.5k on the clock when i bought it.

little end bearing went at 8.5k and had to have full rebuild.

I have since heard a number of stories about said delar not undertaking 1k engine check up???? Same dealer has subsequently lost its franchise.

I suspect that the car wasn't run in properly. Since rebuild and cositing by myself and new dealer, car is completely different, now with 12.5k on clock.

I think it is down to who the dealer is really... treat the engine badly, it will cost you |$$$$$$$$$$$, no matter what the engine spec is

I had the use of a Tamora demonstrator whilst mine was back at the factory for 3 months. The car I was loaned was the NEC show car and had definatly been sorted in all departments, even has different seats that were supposed to be included in all Tams but never were.

When mine came back from the factory, my gut feeling was to keep the demonstrator but the other half did not like black (no jokes please).

If the one that you are looking at is the same car, I can definatly vouch that it has been looked after, warmed up properly, etc as I put 4,000 miles on it in those 3 months with no issues whatsover.

And I don't blame you, the colour(s) of your Tam are quite stunning!
