Discussion
Hi all, I have recently passed my hgv class 2 test, when i sent my licence off to have the entitlement added to it i had 9 points , 3 from 2003 and 6 from last january. my licence arrived back yesterday with just the 3 points from 2003 on it. the other 6 have gone??
Also they have give me class 1 ( artic) entiltlment on my licence even though i have never even drove one!
Are they on the ale down in swansea or somthing??

You've been given Class 1 entitlement without having taken the test?
Blimey, thats alarming...
Apparently my bro in law rode a motorcycle for years on a technical error in his favour by the DVLA.
He moved house - and the entitlement went away again..oops.
He no longer has a bike. And does not care...

I wonder how many have PCV entitlement by mistake.
It doesnt bear thinking about really.
The DVLA are retards. I recently sent my license away on passing my PCV test. There were 6 points on it that were 3 years and 10 months old. Did they remove them? Did they heck......... gits
Points are valid for 3yrs BUT stay on your License for 4yrs IIRC

unless they charge you for the amendment?? Then all would become clear!
I moved house and got a new licence and they left expired points on it, when I enquired I was told that you have to pay to have them removed.
It's all about safety really though
Road safety by magic! it's called the disapearing act of your cash
What do we think of it? To quote that really irritating Paul Daniels "Notalot!"
But so far - so good! Never been copped.

Well on the MCN (bike) website there is the much publised DVLA cockup where they removed Class A motorcycle entitlement from licenses when they were sent in to be updated for some reason.
Licenses returned and not checked carefully by owners only to find at some later date that the category had been removed in error and that they had been riding technically illegally as there was no bike entitlement. DVLA tells license owner to go away and will not admit its their fault resulting in a retest as no proper historical records are kept on test passes.
