Any chance of him getting some time behind bars? Seems quite a despicable thing to do.

He'd be better off commiting the crime in Scotland - where the rapist of a 13 year old doesn't even get a prison sentence, just community service!

That sentence was appealed by the Lord Advocate so is not a done deal yet.

She's the one with the red shoes from Kansas.

(the current Lord advocate is Dorothy Bain KC, the position being the top law officer for Scotland)

I'd say almost certainly. A friend of my Mum & Dads did time some years ago. His crime was forging his then wifes signature for some loan agreements, or the like. This seems much worse in my mind, especially considering the position held.

Well, you'd also need to say he'd be better off being 17 when he committed his crimes. Quite an important piece of information when discussing the outcome of that case (and obviously not one I agree with).

It's actually supposed to be this https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-65374...

The link OP provided is from the BBC's content delivery network partner and is an AMP copy, so is effectively a weirdly named & located copy of the original.

(AMP = accelrated mobile pages) -- op posted from an andriod device.
