Jago Jeep based on..............?

I'm blowed if the old grey matter will release the memory........I know Geoff took the mould from an original Jeep, but as I've forgotten, can someone tell me which year/model type the Jeep is based on please?
MB seems to ring a bell...but which year?

rusty ww II one i seem to remember having read once upon a time

Geoff told me it was a 1943 Willys

Don't know how rusty it was, or if it was RED (unless the rust was RED!"£$%^&*)
