Hi all, bit of a dilemma with next car. Currently lease a fairly run of the mill Fiesta ST-Line (as a a daily, I have other toys for fun stuff). It’s due back in August, so looking at replacements. I’m tossing up between two options:

Lease deal on a Kia Proceed- £177pm for 2 years with £2100 up front. Obvious advantage of being a new car and apparently will arrive in August, which is great timing for me.

PCP on a second hand Fiesta ST MK8- £140pm over 3 years with £4000 down. Obviously I already know the MK8 Fiesta, and I like it a lot and an ST would be a great upgrade for me.

Any thoughts, or indeed other suggestions? Cheers!

If you can afford £4000 down and £140 per month, why not just spend £4500 on a decent used car which you get to own forever! Plenty about at that price. You haven't told us anything about what you use the car for - commuting, city driving, long distance, how many passengers you have, whether you want sporty or comfortable, whether you want 4x4... Not a lot to go on to give any advice!

Yeah forgot to put any of that in! Commute is 12 mile round trip per day, so petrol only obviously. I’ve been spoiled with this Fiesta as it’s needed no maintenance, no MOT etc which I like on a daily, hence looking at newer cars. My other cars are owned outright and need enough maintenance as it is!
Must haves are good headlights, heated seats and Apple CarPlay. Auto would be nice but not necessary as commute has a lot of traffic. No SUV’s or MPV’s, anything else is fine!

If your going to put 4k down I'd be looking to own a lightly used hatch, you'll get one with a warranty that you can extend & they'll be pretty much bulletproof.

Never thought I’d say it, but I like those Astra’s (experience of Vauxhall’s traditionally hasn’t been good). A used car for £4500ish was my original preference, but looking now it’s a depressing sea of dross for that budget, with nothing meeting my criteria for my next car- hence why I’m looking at the finance options again.

They're a good option & make sense as they have all your requirements (auto/carplay etc) & will only need you to finance 8k, buying direct from Vauxhall you can even get a service plan sorted too.
