Just curious to know how long people are waiting for new cars?

I'm currently 19 months down since ordering my EV with still no clear delivery date.

How's everyone else doing?

I was told 9-12 months for the new Toyota RAV4 I ordered last November. So not expecting to see it before about September at the earliest.

I ordered a RAV4 PHEV in March last year for November delivery. I cancelled the order in February when they said it might be delivered in September his year, but might not.

We waited 12 months almost to the day for the good lady’s id3 family pro performance.

I ordered an Audi E-tron last August and it was delivered in early March.

A colleague ordered the same car in January and will get it in early July.

Same colleague cancelled his Taycan, having ordered it last summer, when he was told it wouldn’t be coming until “2024”

Lead time was what put me off the Taycan.

Another colleague ordered a BMW iX1 in February and had it delivered last week.

I was at BMW MOTORBIKE dealer the other day and asked how long from order to delivery expecting the answer to be 6 months plus…they said that often the spec would already exist within the group so Immediate delivery to maybe 6-8 weeks if it had to be built…quite a contrast!

14 months for my LR Defender which arrived late Feb. 20 months so far to get to build stage for a VW Tiguan. It’s taken so long it’s frankly ridiculous as the Defender was supposed to be the replacement for the Tiguan!

I collected a new Macan ten days ago, it was ordered in May 22. So eleven months.

Ordered my Kia EV6 March 2022 for September 2022 delivery. In September 2022 this was moved back to December 2022/January 2023.

It still has not arrived and I've had zero feedback on when to expect it . . . .

I bought a new GS last July when it was much the same. Since then they have tweaked the spec and deleted some stuff that is packed with electronic trickery, like the adaptive LED lights, although I understand there is a promise to retro fit them at some future point.

I'm currently 19 months down since ordering my Taycan 4s with still no clear delivery date.
There are 28 brand new Taycans on the Porsche website available for immediate delivery – plus lots more pre-registered with nominal mileage.

Got a Qashqai on the way, ordered last week of February, due end of May. However, I could have had it now but asked for the build to be held back by a month as I wasn't ready for it yet. Pretty quick compared to others but the big UK factory and a decent supply chain game helps.

Are manufactures still struggling for parts? I would have assumed that alternative suppliers would be being used by now.

Yes - I don't think there are many alternative suppliers for the basic chips they use.

I have waited 20 months for the VW to be built, to a large extent the delay was caused because I specified matrix headlights (which were then discontinued after my order was placed). On the other hand my LR Defender arrived with matrix lights that had not been optioned as the standard LED lights were unobtainable. Bonkers!

Factory ordered an i20N mid March, collect it on Sunday! Think I dropped lucky as most dealers are saying 9-12 months apparently.

Fair comment!
