Am I certified porsche owner?
Discussion
Bought a very nice 944s on an 1988 plate a few days ago and after my Saab 900 Turbo im just getting used to it. It has been extensivley looked after but is still absolutly standard!!
So anyone got any suggestions on which wheels to get to replace the awful (IMHO) Teledial alloys!!
Shes red and a devil!
So Iam now a certified porsche owner now!?!

Sounds that way, enjoy!
Ref wheels how about some cup wheels to replace the originals?
And if you're feeling ambitious how about this conversion? www.pistonheads.com/porsche/default.asp?storyId=7895

in answer to your question, yes of course you are.
In fact you are one of the elite since you are wnjoying the thrill of porsche ownership without ruining your bank account!
my first porsche was also a 944. personally i loved the teledials and thought them in keeping with the car's age, as was the ghastly pinstripe interior which i also grew to love
golden rule is that whenever dissatisfaction strikes, find a wiggly road and put R foot down. a sure cure for depression of any cause

An enlightened choice sir, I had an S myself, and still regret ever selling it. Make sure you get the cam chain tensioner checked though if you haven't already!
I went for the S2 wheels myself, which transformed the looked of the car. The previous owner had the seats retrimmed in linen leather, which I can highly recommend. You might also want to change the wheel for a nice black leather momo or similar.
Most important of all, drive her hard as often as possible

you're certified allright, and don't ever let anyone tell you the 944 isn't a true Porsche. The 944 did, and continues, to perform extremely well in club racing events, and it is one of the best steering cars ever produced.
Her is an interesting site for the 944 guys

My 1984 944 was my first Porsche, and it caused me to buy two more, and now I have three. I'll never sell that 944 by the way, because it's such a sweet driver, and it can be a "holy terror" on a winding road because it can claw it's way around with the best of em.
