Hi all, just wondered if anyone had any experience of skiing in the May/June period? I see there's a few European resorts such as Hintertux in Austria etc which offer year round skiing and I've always fancied it, but never had the balls to actually try it.

Might have the opportunity in the May half term at the end of the month so thought I'd investigate a bit further.

Appreciate any feedback from someone who's done it before.

Skied in the USA in June and have friends off to Chile in August to ski. Never done Europe.

Yeah I don't have the time available to get to US so it's Europe only

Been to Solden in Austria mid July and done some skiing in the middle of a whitewater canoeing holiday, and Madonna di Campiglio in Italy while on a driving holiday (in the EVO V for the ph link)

Bit limited in Solden but Italy was actually ok

Nice for a quick day, but probably wouldn't do a weeks holiday as the runs are (of course) much more limited than they could be.

I've only ever done EU but I have been to NZ (specifically Queenstown) in their winter, just not to ski/board, and it's absolutely buzzing down there and comes generally highly recommended by a few friends.

It's just a way to go is all ...

Like yourself I was canoeiing on the Inn and went up to Solden for a day one June, many years ago. Good fun, but got a bit slushy lower down as the day warmed up. Wasn't busy though, and as I recall pretty cheap. i wouldn't make a holiday out of it for for a day or two pretty good.
