Hello All
Was faffing around in the cockpit of my cerb the other day - you know cleaning this, glueing that back on - and I noticed the roof inside. There is a massive square empty space here and I was musing over the idea of having a large piece of glass put in - or maybe a sunroof.
Do we know of any one thats had this done and have we got an photos?

A Webasto 'fold back' style roof might work well in that space. If the roof isn't too curved in top then I can't see why a sunroof couldn't be fitted.
I looked at this some time ago (when I had my cerb) a webasto is the ideal choice, BUT I was told by my dealer that it would make my car less valued as it would be modified.
I am currently thinking of another cerb and actually doing it this time.

I looked into this for the phoenix, but the curve would get in the way and then the small space between my head and the roofline, not enough to fit in an electric one.
The easiest option is probably have a moonroof with some ducts you can manually open and close at will... but even then, the roof curves get in the way, unless you wanna pay someone to make a glass roof go with the curves...
The other option is actually make the roof removable, but then theres a whole load more work involved in making the roll cage bars look beefy and water tight sealing etc....
in a few words, too much of a headache, now if this was a eurobox or a general import, then no problem, many companies can fit a sunroof during the day, they just cut a hole andwrap the interior cloth underneath a chassis and then plate it all up and done dusted... but sadly its not as easy as that with the cerbs paper thin roof.

Carbon Al would be willing to take this project on for anyone who is interested. He can get hold of various low-profile electric sunroofs too, so can do the blending in thing too. I guess you'd be looking at upto 5k for a one-off, or maybe a better deal if a group of you wanted one.
Manual panels should be a lot simpler and cheaper. Drop him a line me says. Would love to see a sunroof/targa type cerbie. Who'll be the first one?
