Euro 5 to Euro 6 conversion costs.

I'm planning to buy a Mercedes Sprinter 516 CDI and trying to find out the cost of a Euro 6 upgrade.
I've searched loads of sites with conflicting views and prices ranging from a few hundred to thousands.
Would it be around 5.5k all in including updating the car registration details with the local authority?
Should I go for a higher mileage Euro 6 or opt for low miles Euro 5 and upgrade?
It will be used regularly in a LEZ zone.

If you need a Euro6 then get one, it's really not worth the hassle.

As every other reply will say, get an E6, so the irrefutable proof of compliance is there from the original manufacturer, not some guy called Dave from down the pub.
