Another annoying problem.

Another slightly annoying prob my car has now, when starting it will cough and splutter and die. If you give it 2 short revs then it will sit at idle fine.. but i never used to have to rev it before?
Any ideas.? Tks.

What car is it? If it is the K series engine, have you checked the temp sender?

lol i keep asking for help and never post my damn car! its an S1 and i am very interested in your reply... i have thought for a while and Williams mechanic said he thought it was this as well.. because my temp has been going mad recently jumping all over and never sitting at 1 temp, going above 100 within seconds of starting the car and have even seen 140, without the fan coming on, so i was going to order one from eliseparts and now this problem, which if related means i will be ordering first thing monday!
How would the temp sender be the problem?

I would test the throttle position sensor, the coolant temp sensor(not the water temp gauge sending unit).
I would also go over the car looking for broken earth(ground) wires.
