a BIG shout out to Mark Adams, the TVR god he fiddled and meddled and fettled and toyed..

he coaxed an extra 14 ft/lbs from the car, peak, and about 10 ft/lbs tru the range..

Man she feels EVILLY fast now, cant get over the diff such a 'small' amount makes..

Cant help grinning all the time.. she feels 'right' gears drop onto each other, no waiting,

dont get me wrong, she wasnt a slug before, 252 bhp stock, aint bad for a 4.5 but now, WOW

cant wait to get the De-Pre=Cats on...

Jamie, sounds great but as Bluethunder says, how much ? I'd consider doing this but not if it costs an arm and a leg.

Email me off line if you'd prefer (see profile).

If you already have the Tornado chip then budget £250 for a couple of hours plus what ever bits might need replacing.

If you don't have it, budget £750.

Don't forget to tell the insurers as the car is modded when the Tornado chip is added.

AS steve says,

mine came to about that in total, but thats cos i needed injector cleana and 2 new injectors too,

without those, your looking around £600 i would imagine...

Car is alot nippier now, revs alot higer, 2nd runs out around 65 now...

Now for the De-Precats and Carbon Fibre Plenum

Then shall see how many ponies we can liberate

OT, Steve, you get my mail ?

Is this a good measurement then? There ws a thread before where pepole were talking about hitting 60/rev limiter first in 2nd gear, so I nipped out and tried it.
I got 62ish and had still not reached the limiter when I decided to bottle it and drop it in to 3rd and mines only a standard 4 litre (standard as far as I know anyway).
Thinking about it I guess the speedo could be out was your 65mph measured by GPS or speedo?

65 wasnt rev limiter, but more 'where the car felt like it wanted to stop' ie no point revving further cospower is tailing off.

Speedo. tho the speedo is almost spot on going by rolling road info.

100 revs out, so about 1 mph..

To further my experiment I tried the same in my eurobox last night, got 60 @ 6500rpm or there abouts in 2nd.
so apart from thrashing the nuts of it what does this prove?

The point ish, was that stock, my Chim ran out of steam around 57mph...

now its been remapped, it happily goes to 65 before feeling the need to change. gives that extra few secs of power before changing, and drops you into the next gear faster, so on power again (like were not ALWAYS on power :P I get 220 ft/lb at 1200rpm :P )

Most cars are geared to just over 62mph in second for the 0-60 and 0-100km/h timings....

So, how much more did the insurance company charge after the mod?

Sunninghill...
£0 for the GRiff. (cam, plenum, air flow, ECU, Roll bar, brakes).
£0 for the 520 (despite 14 pages of mods. The diff is the only thing not modified. )
