Parking for Kew Gardens?

Hi all
Was thinking of visiting Kew this week.
Train is 3 hr 20 minutes with at least 1 change maybe 2.
Driving, I can get there in about 2 hours at half the cost or less.
However parking at Kew is ‘first come first served, limited spaces’ sort of thing. In other words forget it.

Does anyone know a good place to park a stop or two away from Kew station on the district line? Coming from the West.
Would want to park for 6 or so hours I expect.
Happy to pay to park.

RBG Kew is one of our clients; we always park at
Ferry Ln, Richmond, TW9 3AG, it's kind of round the back by the river.
