Hello

At present I’ve got an Up gti, which I’m bored of. I’ve had it for nearly 2 years, and whilst it does my daily plod of 22 miles more than adequately I fancy a change.

In an ideal world I’d get an MX5 ND, however with 3 of us in the house it wouldn’t work. I’ve flirted with the idea of an F57 Cooper S, and quite like the a JCW hatch 3door but again they’re a bit small really… The F55 Cooper S I need to look at closer, but are there any other suggestions? Up to the £20k mark, and criteria is it must fit us all, be entertaining and not too juicy on fuel, and I quite fancy an auto, but it’s not a deal breaker!

Thank you!

If it's a commuter I'd just get a Golf R and be done with it.

Maybe a hot Megane if you have to have some character.

i30N would give you all of the fun, plenty of warranty (including track usage, if you're that way inclined), be fully equipped as standard and it should be a great big smile on your face. For £20k you'll be in a manual but it's a cracking setup.

If auto ends up being important then I'd take an M140i over a VAG hot hatch, purely for the character.

Golf R for the simple answer and the win.

i30N if you what some fun - a little more character than the Golf, but perhaps not as accomplished overall.

Fiesta ST mk8 with performance pack with 5 doors if easier rear access is a requirement?

Also a mk8 Performance Edition will hold reasonable money and the 1.5 is excellent on fuel. 3 doors only though if that’s an issue but performance pack is standard as is KW coilovers and low weight alloys.

CTR GT for me as ive owned one.

Great car but not in the slightest bit comfortable in any driving mode unless you live on a runway.
