Best speaker since Betty Boothroyd?

(For the avoidance of doubt, I would post this no matter what affiliation the MP in question belongs to)

I think he's ok but I'm sure there have been far worse transgressors than Kemi. Why has he not been equally forceful with them?

Well he consistently allowed Johnson to lie and mislead parliament without even the merest hint of reproach.

Utterly useless.

Shouting and stabbing with his finger and telling them off with no other reasoning for the outburst. Nailed on case of bullying I would suggest...

Somehow that sort of behaviour passes for normal and acceptable for Parliament.

That place really does need dragging into the 21st century.

I like Lindsay Hoyle's style of Speaker, but I do believe the whole institution from the Monarchy downwards, needs a re-think how we are going about this in the 21st Century.

And I'm old! wink

Raab’s fit of frustration when he questioned whether officials were breaching the ministerial code constituted “an abuse or misuse of power” in a way that undermined and humiliated them

Seems pretty clear cut...or is it once again 'different'

Listening to Kemi Badenoch, I think she came out of that with far more restraint and credibility. I wonder if he only shouts and gesticulates at women?

Badenoch has the same level of credibility as she has respect for the HoC and her constituents of which I am one - zero

She couldn't put a pin in a map and locate Uttlesford if she tried
