Any where to avoid in Croatia

Haven't been since it was Yugoslavia back in '86 (Poric), so is there anywhere we should avoid or aim to be close to. I'm sure there are loads of lovely places but knowing nothing about the country, just don't want to end up unknowingly picking their version of Blackpool/ Las Americas type of place. Not after a complete remote place with nothing happening, just something to keep from being bored. Cheers

There’s nowhere too Blackpool!

Makarska isn’t the best though.

Split is a great base. Easy access to islands, day trips easy to plitvice lakes or Dubrovnik. Not far too Bosnia or Montenegro.
