Vixen S2 window lifter

Trying to remove window mechanism as it keeps jamming. Removed side panel but how do I get the mechanism out as the winder shaft is stopping removal. Do I have to cut the inner glass fibre panel to leave a gap for the shaft to slide out.
Help please.

If the drop glass is in the up position it should come out (I think). I wouldn't weaken the door inner by cutting it further.

Hi there, window is at the top, seems to be the bottom of the tally window channel that's stopping it. About 3 cm still proud of the panel.

I took mine out to replace with new winders only 2 months ago. I can't remember for the life of me how they came out but certainly there was no need to cut any fibreglass. I don't recall any difficulty removing them.

If it’s any consolation, they all seem to look that ste! Mine was worse, if that is plausible.

Once you have got the jockey wheel disengaged from the door glass channel it should just wiggle out.

Thanks for the info, any idea how the bottom of the glass is secured in its channel, is it adhesive or just a tight fit, mine has come out.

As standard it just relies on the mechanical grip of the tight fit and the friction of the rubber on the glass. But no harm in bonding it back together if necessary.

Editted to add: It is a lot less likely to separate from the glass if the glass is running smoothly in the frame so check your seals and also make sure the legs of the frame are not bent and restricting the movement of the drop glass.
